50th birthday jewellery box

I’ve just finished a Jewellery box for a very special birthday – personalised with a laser engraved brass nameplate.

The box is made from beautiful quarter sawn Oak from Realwood Studios in the Scottish Borders. The inlay and detailing are ‘bog’ Oak which has been carbon dated to approx 5500 years old, supplied by Adamson and Low.

The box opens with a pivot hinge lid to reveal an inner sliding and removable upper tray and a lower level divided into six sections.

The box is lined with some lovely cloth which I bought whilst on holiday on the Isle of Mull. Ardalanish farm and weavers are an award winning company, set on a beautiful Hebridean Peninsula.
